I am installing a tile countertop, granite and wondered what the best way to ensure the subfloor of plywood. I was told that I can use 3 / 4 "AC plywood and sealed with a sealer called Redguard. This does not necessarily mean installing an additional base plate.

You must always add a layer of layers of tiles codes say that at least 1 and 1 / 4 tiles total substrate. The most common is 3 / 4 and 1 / 2 in the cement board. Thin-and-nail or screw down. You could use a 1 / 4 inch cement board, but you can use cheaper, 1 / 2 inches .. If you screw it, not all components of the double and go-tail grain Cross and Red Guards .. is a good anti-Bruch's membrane as a water proofing system. 2 coats minimum. I would go w / 3 or until none of the Red Guards. It does not save for a long time and opportunity, you must use is likely slim, fast, but you never know what will make the next project, another 1 / 2 will be next lol GL
Since you are with tiles made of granite, not a piece of granite that is used cement backer board. The wear resistance is plated moisture underneath. Sealing Redguard have 4 or 5 layers and drying time between coats.
They have better results with backerboard-not knots or shrapnel.
According to the link below is correct. I watched because I cook in the same way of thinking. I want to make sure that if I quit the substrate specified rent.
Do you have a few photos. good / It's 2 pages
